The Gospel

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. Romans 10:9

God created us all to be with Him (Genesis 1-2)

In the beginning chapters of Genesis, God speaks all of creation into existence, including man and woman. God made Adam and Eve with purpose. God created them to be in complete fellowship with each other, and more importantly, with Him. They had no shame and nothing to hide before God. They regularly communed with God and enjoyed His presence as they lived in the garden of Eden; and this was how God intended His relationship to be with His creation. The only command God gave to them was not to eat from the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

Our sin separates us from Him

When Adam and Eve were tempted by Satan, and ultimately ate of the tree of knowledge of good and evil, that decision changed the destiny of all of mankind. Because of their decision to disobey, sin entered into the word. The Bible says in Romans, “ Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.” The consequence of sin was immediate separation from God and eternal separation from God in a place called Hell.

For the wages of sin [is] death; but the gift of God [is] eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Romans 6:23

Sin cannot be removed by good works

From the beginning humanity has attempted to remove the stain of sin by good deeds. All throughout the Bible, men and women have sacrificed their possessions and performed every ritual possible, only to realize that good works cannot pay your way to heaven.

Paying the price for sin, Christ died on the cross

When Christ came on the earth, He came as the ultimate sacrifice for our sins. The Bible says, “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” Christ lived a perfect life that we could not live, and ultimately died on the cross for our sins. As he hung there on the cross, he cried, “It is finished” (John 19:30). And what He meant by that was, sin’s price had been fully paid and the work that needed to be done, was now finished. Three days later, Christ rose from the dead and in doing so, showed the world that He had conquered sin and death, and that He truly was the one and only, Son of God.

But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Romans 5:8

Everyone who trusts in Him, had eternal life

The amazing thing about eternal life, is that it is given to us as a free gift. You don’t have to work for it, you don’t have to be a good person for it, you don’t even need religion for it. The key to eternal life is found in putting your faith in Christ alone, and accepting Him and His death on the cross as the only payment for our sins. When we believe that Jesus died for our sins and trust in Him alone we receive eternal life, are passed out of death into life and are guaranteed a home in heaven (John 5:24).

Life with Jesus starts now and forever

Because Jesus died on the cross and rose from the dead we will be with Jesus forever in heaven. When we trust in Jesus we enter into a personal, permanent relationship with God called “eternal life.” The joy of eternal life is that it does not start once you die, but it starts as soon as you believe. The Bible say in John 10:10, “I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” Salvation doesn’t mean a problem-free life, but it does guarantee that Christ is by your side as you face these problems. You are now His child and every promise in the Bible, you may now claim as your own. This life is the joy of a real, exciting relationship with Jesus every single day through prayer, worship and living in the strength that God provides through his Holy Spirit (Ephesians 5:18).

And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand. I and my Father are one.

John 10:28-30

The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
